caused excitement
among horophiles
ever since Rolex
introduced its
original Oyster model almost 90 years
ago. Since then, timepieces built for
mountaineering, ying, diving and
driving have been created by all
manner of makers, and still buyers
come back for more, as evidenced
by the latest array of rugged models
set to arrive in retailers' windows
during the next few months.
The di erence between today's
adventure-oriented pieces and those
that went before, however, is that
modern engineering (usually) means
better quality, enhanced reliability,
greater accuracy, and more advanced
features. A typical example of this can
be seen in the clever Magneto S from
Ball Watch Company, which introduces
a whole new way of making a watch
ultra-antimagnetic.
