real russianFrom the best ingredients to the nest
equipment, only the best will do when it
comes to making the rened Beluga Vodka
odka has always had an air of
decadence about it, whether it's
linked with the gilded tsars of
Russia, or the louche living, sharp
suits and three-Martini lunches
of the iconic 1950s ad men.
Beluga Vodka is the embodiment of this
approach to good living: a super-premium
product made by the best craftsmen, using
the nest raw ingredients. Even the Siberian
spring water that forms its base is taken from
the purest sources, before undergoing silver
ltration to rene the product further.
The malt spirit used to give Beluga its
smoothness and balance comes from
barley grown in Western Siberia, an area
known for its environmental purity. It isn't
just the malt that creates that signature
smoothness - Beluga also contains honey,
vanilla and milk-thistle extracts. The vodka
is rested for a minimum of 30 days after
production - allowing the spirit to mellow
and mature so it's the best it can be by the
time it reaches your glass.
Beluga is produced at Russia's famous
Mariinsky Distillery, which has been in
operation for more than a century.
With such a high-end operation it would
be a crying shame if there were only one
incarnation of Beluga vodka. Happily,
in fact, there are four.
Beluga Noble is the brand's agship
product: triple-distilled and rested for 30
days. Beluga Transatlantic commemorates
the successes of the Russian sailing team
and is rested for between 30 and 40 days,
undergoing an additional ltration through
cotton. Beluga Allure celebrates the mighty
Russian Beluga Polo Team and is rested for
45-60 days, using a softened spring water
that contains a whisper of maple syrup for
added depth and complexity of avour.
There's a temptation to rest on your
laurels when you're at the top of your game.
This isn't the approach taken by Beluga
though, and is embodied by its super-luxe
expression Beluga Gold Line. Crafted with
connoisseurs in mind, extra steps are taken
to ensure an unparalleled smoothness.
Extracts of rice and rhodiola rosea are
added and the resting process is extending
to 90 days. The bottle looks as good as the
vodka tastes; Beluga Gold Line is individually
numbered, stopped with a cork and sealed
with wax. Each comes with a hammer,
to be used in the removal of the seal.
At home with luxury
The best venues want to stock only the
best products. Naturally, the Beluga range
is considered to be one of the nest on
the market and has made itself at home in
London's most exclusive bars, hotels and
restaurants, such as those opposite…
