Milanese style rubs shoulder pads with
smart Savile Row at Sartoria's new and
improved lounge bar, which is tailored
to modern Mayfair tastes. Aperitivo
hour spritzes, fragrant Bellinis, twisted
Negronis, Mediterranean Martinis and
plausible cicchetti should make the
time y by while soaking up the elegant
surrounds. Suits you sir.

Minimalist Scandi decor and a thumping
1970s sound system (that once belonged
to legendary record producer Martin
Hannett) set the scene for kickass cocktails
as Behind This Wall sets up permanent
home in a defunct Turkish social club.
Rum Swizzle, Pisco Cooler, mezcal Martini
and a twisted Sazerac are among this
tight-squeeze basement's hits.
LITTLE BAT Alice in Wonderland returns with mind-blowing cocktails
Like Callooh Callay, owner Richard Wynne's latest liquor
lounge is inspired by the weirdly wonderful work of Lewis
Carroll. More of a knocked-back neighbourhood bar than
its artfully contrived Shoreditch sister, the warm, woody,
sangria-toned Little Bat's urbane outpourings scream
"Drink me!" A menu packed with sexy sours, swizzles and
smashes includes a fancy fizz made with Glenmorangie,
Ardbeg 10 and beetroot syrup. An off-piste challenge to
head bartender Barney Toy's boys paid off handsomely
for us in the shape of a bespoke mezcal Manhattan that
would blow e Mad Hatter's mind.

You should be dancing at this 70s flashback. Or should you?
Indulge in snacks last served at Abigail's Party at this
1970s-style basement lounge: spag bol croquettes, cheese and
pineapple on sticks, deeply odd "not Spam fritters" and Black
Forest gateau. A trite homage to the age of Saturday Night
Fever, soundtracked by hits that your mother's leopard-print
catsuit once danced to, this is a den of disco drinks. Serves
such as Snowballs, Tequila Sunrises and various Sodastream
concoctions are among the dazzlers on offer.

A characterful bar in a salvage warehouse proves a vintage find
Price tags on the upcycled antiques at LASSCO (e London
Architectural Salvage and Supply Co) may leave you in need of
a stiff drink. So it's good news that you'll find a bar among the
dusty miscellany of this old curiosity shop, run by the dudes behind
Disappearing Dining Club. London Dry gins on offer include local
heroes Little Bird (Peckham) and Jensen's (Bermondsey); while at
£8, a Calvados and Strega rye Manhattan is one of LASSCO's less
expensive finds. An atmospheric, dark, Dickensian den.
