HIBISCUS MAYFAIR
Is something up at Hibiscus? Following its 2014 refurbishment
we felt it was "fi ring on all cylinders" and more recently we
highlighted the "outstanding service", however Ian B declared
he "would never recommend" Claude Bosi's restaurant after his
"bland" meal and "disappointing" treatment there. Meanwhile
Squaremeal veteran Paul A had a rocky time of it too, fi nding
the dining room sparsely populated and wondering at the 15 per
cent service charge. We hope this is just a blip, but if you've been
to Hibiscus recently, tell us what you thought.
YAUATCHA SOHO
We couldn't put it better
than Gourmand Gunno:
"With new restaurant
openings almost reaching
a level of frenzy, it is
reassuring to return to
old favourites that remain
consistently good after
a decade". e original
Yauatcha is still "cool",
"atmospheric" and serving
dim sum and cheung fun
"prepared to perfection".
We'd agree with Siri S that the basement tables aren't best "for
people with long legs" but, like Gunno, she loved the "amazing"
Chinese food and drinks. We rate younger sibling Yauatcha City
as a good place for the warmer months ahead.

TRINITY CLAPHAM
Post-makeover and with a new informal upstairs dining room,
Adam Byatt's special occasion big-hitter is going down well. Eric
F has dubbed the new look "beautiful" and "more in keeping with
the excellent food and service", while the staff gave Neil G and
his partner a card to mark their wedding anniversary. How sweet.
BOISDALE CANARY WHARF +
It's a tale of two lunchtimes for Boisdale, with Tammy K fi n d i n g
the Canary Wharf branch "quite empty" during her daytime visit,
while Corinne C found "the perfect place for a girly lunch" in
the Bishopsgate venue. We'd still recommend either, although
Canary Wharf edges it for spring with its terrace.
