I grew up in a central
Italian village called
Navelli, where the
sa ron ower is
farmed. I like the
silkiness that sa ron
gives to risotto
and the way that
it announces the
 avour of seafood.
WORDS NEIL SIMPSON
Some of the most memorable food I've
ever eaten is on Ischia, off the Amalfi
coast. Hotel Il Moresco has the best
hotel food, which I normally avoid.
Arancina in Notting
Hill is very good;
the Sicilian
rice balls
are really
delicious.
I use cookbooks to learn more
about di erent cuisines, such
as Anjali Pathak's books for
Indian cooking.
The breakfast menu at
Cicchetti includes Italian
sausage with savoury
zabaglione, which is
what I always
go for when it's
brunch time.
