Kikuchi on Hanway Street is
nowhere near as well-known
as it should be. To my mind,
it serves some of the very
best sushi and sashimi
in town and I eat
India is the most interesting country I've ever
visited. In particular, Goa is one of my favourite
places in the world. I love the strong Portuguese
heritage and � nd it fascinating and inspirational.
My favourite place to shop is
Broadway Market. There are
so many great stalls and a
fantastic atmosphere too. I go
to Climpson � Sons - it's one
of the best cups of co ee
you'll get in London.
Koya is my favourite restaurant in London.
Head chef Junya Yamasaki is the most talented
person I know in the kitchen. For someone
who is self-taught, the level of craftsmanship
and creativity is incredible. Add in the passion
he has for cooking and he really stands out.
I still fi nd Portuguese cuisine poorly
represented in London. There is no one
that has been able to capture the essence
of Portuguese cooking, adapt it to local
ingredients and make it lighter and fresher.
I would like to see that happen this year.
