THE MASTERS AT HOME
(£25, Absolute Press)
If you've ever pondered what the world's
top chefs cook o -duty, then this eclectic
and visual book has the answers. As well
as each of the 33 chefs sharing their three
favourite home recipes, they all have a
revealing pro le (who knew Peter Gordon
had a soft spot for Kit-Kats?) and share their secret food haunts.
David Loftus' photography captures the relaxed mood - here is
food that looks achievable and tastes wonderful. Mostly it's not
over-complicated (Ferran Adrià's simple gratin of red fruits, for
example) but there are more elaborate recipes to get to grips with. I
cooked Andrew Fairlie's roast duck with honey and spices, and was
impressed with the well- avoured result - a perfect autumn roast.
